Best bar in Forest Row by a mile, although not many remain. Best bar in the area too. I guess that may depend on what you're looking for though. If you like something a bit quirky that serves a reasonable selection of decent drinks, including some craft beer then you're in luck. If you are wanting something more traditional, give it a try but appreciate it is something different before going. Love the vibe and they have some interesting events going on some nights.
Popped in for coffees and they were very good coffees and well made. Much better than Costa round the corner. The atmosphere seems very nice and relaxed. Will have to try the food next time.
I went for the New Year's eve event. I was disappointed by the selection of beers available, it was Ales only on tap and then bottled wine, cocktails etc. Nice little venue otherwise. Good if you like Ales, it is the Hop Yard after all.
Chef's pick their noses while cooking! We sat at a table directly facing the kitchen. Having watched one chef pick his nose whilst preparing the food, I couldn't believe it but the other one did too. The waiter chap was not friendly at all. I would have left if there was a way of doing so without causing a commotion but we already ordered. Felt sick eating the food. Go here if you don't mind poor hygiene and unfriendly service.
Great pub selling really good beer. Definitely try their golden ale, brewed by the owner, very nice. They also have food and regular events such as live music, comedy nights and film screenings.
